United Resolution
This is an issue that affects the global community and therefore requires a united resolution. If nations stand further divided in this matter, the conflict will only escalate. Unfortunately this conflict can be measured, it can be measured in the number of homes destroyed, in the number of days starving, it can be measured in the number of lives unnecessarily lost. The global community needs to come together without delay and it needs to create a sound plan. Every moment wasted over some petty issue comes at the price of lives, not some militant's life, but rather at the life of a child, a mother, a son, a cherished individual.

Recommend Actions For Political Entities:
- Authorization for UN forces to create and occupy safe zones within Syria.
- Why? Currently, the state of Syria is divided and therefore lacks a government that is competent enough to take care of its people. Numerous human rights have been consistently violated by the actions of various groups. Therefore, the UN needs to be authorized to come in an act as a temporary form of control and protection. The UN is not invading sovereign territory, it is protecting the Syrian people from unwarranted injustice.
- Open dialogue between Assad Forces & Opposition
- After the creation of aforementioned safe zones, the UN with full support of its members needs to identify a way to open dialogue between Assad Forces & Opposition Forces. Both sides need to come to some compromise to prevent further bloodshed and suffering. Both sides need to realize that as this conflict escalates, the eventuality of direct foreign intervention will be inevitable.
- Nations around the world need to impose arms embargoes to Syria
- Why? The arming of either faction is only going to end poorly. This has been proven time and time again throughout history. The escalation of force simply equates to more death and destruction, especially if those arms or forces decide to take on more sinister ideologies.
- A clause under this policy would also consist of tighter scrutiny on arms dealers. There's no point in sanctioning the dealing of arms if 3rd party arms dealers will smuggle in arms anyways.
- The world needs to come together and create a uniformed code of conduct in regards to refugees (not just Syrians)
- Why? As the world becomes more interconnected through globalization, the likelihood of future conflicts affecting numerous nations will be high. Therefore, a policy should be created and adopted by as many nations as possible. This policy will outline the global communities' obligations and pledges in the event of citizens of nation becoming displaced. It will provide clarity for future conflicts, hopefully preventing this current quagmire of policy.
What We Can Do As Individuals:
- One of the simplest and easiest ways to help is to donate money. A list of donation sites will be provided at the bottom of this page.
- Other donations are also accepted, they can range from, but not limited to: old cars, blankets, clothing, books and so on.
- Volunteer at humanitarian aid groups. Some duties include helping refugees transition to new countries, finding new jobs, and so on.
- Write to your political leaders, urging them to provide support to those in need.
- Spreading awareness of the suffering of others and promoting the need to provide support for those individuals.

Of course these are the words of just some young idealistic guy, but that does not change the meaning behind them. We are all people of the same world, regardless of race, religion, or creed. We love, we hate, we bleed, and we live like any other does, but most importantly we overcome adversity. It is the human spirit that allows us to overcome adversity, and in so it also unites us all. We need a revolution, but not one of arms and bad will, but rather one of understanding and communication. Yes we are all different, but those differences should bring us together, not separate us.
